Pisac Sunday market
The call to mass in Pisac......it is the young boys job to weave through the market blowing on their conch shells to alert the traders that its time to close up their stalls for a while and come into the church to mass. This was very much a big local market for surrounding small towns and villagers. The food stalls and trading was the main event, but there were also many women weaving textiles and selling their blankets and other goods to locals and tourists alike. There were also long trestle tables with families and traders eating together from huge urns of stew....oh and plenty of guinea pigs spit roasting ! I nearly blipped that but thought it may upset too many of you!
