Wave

The first task of BOS 3! This is how the sky looked over the back when we arrived on top. With a good breeze there was lots of wave around.

Conditions were weak on the hill with wave phasing conditions off and on. Leaving was difficult, and it didn't get easier on route. Weaker thermals than it looked.

I had a great opportunity just before the first start but came back as too early. I should have stayed at cloudbase and come back to start. Instead I grubbed around with everyone else but not as successfully. Finally left the hill with three others in a desparate last go. We all landed 12km over the back in the same field.

Still, very pleasant in the sun.

Evening competition meal finished the day - simple baked spuds but great. Apple pie too, twice :-)
