I was looking for whales

and saw plenty, breaching, having fun but about 2 kms from shore. So, we get a skink instead :)

I think this is a Western Three-Lined skink or Cool skink (imaginative names aren't they). Cool because they live in the cooler, southern areas of WA. I heard a rustling in the bush near where we were standing, scoping the ocean for cetaceans and had to do a double take as my first thoughts were "snake"! As you do......
This fellow/lady was about 2 feet long - just sayin'

Anyhoo - just proves "spring has sprung" - and "summer is a commin'"
