A grand day out!

Lovely sunny, warm day ........ what better for a Sunday!

We decided to have a trip out to Kirkby Moor ....... we've not been before ....... so pleased we did. It was beautiful ....... the moor was covered with a carpet of heather ....... our walk was accompanied by the gentle buzzing of the bees. There was also a wooded area which was alive with all kinds of birds ....... we saw Willow Warblers, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Long-tailed Tits, Thrushes, Robins & Wrens. We also saw both Greater Spotted & Green woodpeckers. There were loads of Dragonflies & Damselflies too. Also the butterflies .......

Top: Brown Argus (I think)

Bottom left: Small Copper.

Bottom right: a strange (to me) bee? ..... do hope somebody knows what it is!
