Gladiators

We were immersed in ancient Roman culture today. There used to be a Roman settlement called Augusta Raurica where Basel is now and there was a special festival on. The grounds were full of market stalls, legions teaching children Roman Army tactics, marching soldiers, dancers, and even some gladiator fighting (by actors, of course) in the old theatre which I was lucky to get in and see. Although the place was really busy it was probably one of the best days to go and I'm glad my sister spotted it.

I also showed my family the Swiss/French/German border monument which I have blipped about before.
