Tortoiseshell butterfly

Catching up today on various household chores. The washer has been doing overtime so Stephen can decide what he will need in Strasbourg.

We did have a break to walk Jet who was very keen to run off some energy having been in kennels over the weekend. As we set off the Sir Nigel Gresley steam engine was leaving the station. Despite running to try and get a decent shot unfortunately we were not on the most scenic part of the line. Must check the timetable to plan a better shot.

As we returned Stephen spotted this butterfly resting with wings outstretched on a low wall. Surprising as there was building work being undertaken in the garden next door.
