Home again
I knew I was no longer in North Lancashire this evening when I explored my garden. On the Verbena bonariensis, which is still glorious after months of flowering, I found this Rhopalid bug. It is Corizus hyoscyami, which I don't think has made it north of around the Mersey yet. I'm sure it will as only a few years ago it was thought to be restricted to southern coastal sites. About three years ago I was delighted to find it at the nature reserve, south of here; now it is looking very happy in a normal little garden. There really are some fascinating distribution changes happening in our wildlife.
