The Waldorf Astoria

From Inverurie to New York and the hotel my publisher booked for me in NYC - the Waldorf Astoria. It was a 7-hour flight from Edinburgh to Toronto, then a wait of several hours before our connection to NYC.

Arriving tired from the journey and sticky from the high heat humidity, it was a huge relief to fall into the air conditioned opulence of this classic hotel. Being an ordinary Glasgow boy, I have to keep pinching myself. Is this real? Enjoy it while you can, says J.
