Water Wednesday: Hurricane Surge
It was predicted that some areas of southern California would experience extremely high surf and dangerous rip currents in the aftermath of Hurricane Marie. South facing beaches were preparing for 10 to 20 foot waves--a surfer's paradise. I had a doctor's appointment early this morning and enough time to stop in Oceanside to check out the waves. While they were nowhere near 10 feet, they were pretty impressive and seemingly incessant. This sea gull is keeping a look out for a tsunami wave on the shore near the pier. A surfer I know called this the surge of the year, and possibly the decade. I think that qualifies for water Wednesday.
