The fragility of life

It's been a very difficult few days! Understatement of the year for me!! On Saturday morning my really fit OH headed off to his Taekwondo training and just a couple of hours later while shopping I get the call that freezes you to the spot. He'd had a heart attack while training. The quick action of his pals, the paramedics and the fact he was taken straight to the specialist Jubilee Hospital heart unit from Falkirk to Clydebank, where the medics were waiting and ready to take him straight to theatre, saved his life. He is expected to make a good recovery but will need some lifestyle changes starting with reminding him he's nearly 60 not 20!!
It was a terrible shock but fantastic that our kids and their partners swung into motion with support at every level. You guys are amazing! Great support from family and friends too. As they say 'you never know the minute!' And thank God for the NHS.
