Style Sunday - I hope my style has improved

Style Sunday in chandler63's August Challenge.

Amongst the old school books that I found in the "locked" chest was a school diary. Fascinating (for me) was to find this entry referring to my father buying a new "gramophone". We still have the "gramophone" in question, but strangely I can only ever remember it being referred to as the record player, never the gramophone.

I do hope that my writing style , and my handwriting has improved since this was written!
