A Barn in Arkengarthdale
It was another beautiful sunny (and cold) day today. After saying goodbye to my Mum and Dad, we had some lunch in Laykin and then went for a drive so Orla could get some sleep. We drove from Low Row over to Arkengarthdale along the route I had walked with Ol and Iain on Monday. I took this photo on the other side near Langthwaite.
We were then intending to head to Richmond to rendezvous with Catherine, Scott and Anne's parents. But the lack of mobile signal and their good progress on their journey led to them actually passing us on the way. We spotted them so turned round and caught up with them to lead them up to Laykin.
After a cup of tea and showing them round, we went for a drive to Hawes, along the Buttertubs pass. It was much more impressive this time with the sun shining. We were there to get provisions for the remaining two nights.
Today was my birthday so in the evening Anne and I went out for dinner in the Punchbowl Inn, just up the road in Low Row. I had a very nice Lamb Shank.
