The Wild Wild West

By Beedoesthis

Chair from the past.

I can hear the scrape of these chairs, sending me back to school days, feel their firm, yet not uncomfortable seat (better than those plastic things).

Spent the day in a church, looking at wall monuments, mostly grubby, mostly marble. Not surprised to read the inscriptions of several such like:

Near this place lies the body of Algernon Moncrieff, a beloved husband, devoted landowner, indulgent father, honest gentleman, respected magistrate, loyal member of society yada yada yada.

And also his wife, Cecily.

A long tiring day, not helped by an argument with a colleague about 'misremembered conversations'.
