making the most of a glorious late summer day and the last day of the summer holiday.
We visited Em's new nursery, the verdict was good, fortunate since she starts there in ernest tomorrow. Then we pootled up the lane to St Michaels and All Angels, where Em was baptised three years ago. The church was locked but we had a respectful walk around the hilltop yard, with perhaps a few swings on the gate. Then Em and I walked down the lane into the village, crossing the brook on the stone bridge. A play at the small village park then back to the car at the top of the hill. The afternoon was filled with the sound of giggling girls as Em and her neighbour buddy dug holes in our veggie patch and built fairy houses with sticks and leaves.
