Life with Alice

The Last Days of Summer

We still go down to the water on our walkies, even though it's colder and mum no longer swims. I play happily getting sticks and stuff out of the water, just like a poodle should, I'm told. I have to admit it's more relaxed, now that I - and mum - know that a swimming lesson will not happen in the end. We'll see next year, says mum.

I help a lot with garden chores, too. Digging up potatoes, picking up apples from the ground and carrying cut-off branches away. And in the evenings, we just sit enjoying the last rays of sunlight, mum with two sweaters on.

Mum claims there is a list of Less Endearing Things I do, but that she'll save that for later.
