This Is Not A Peacock Butterfly

I spent quite a bit of time watching the butterflies around our Buddleia and a few things struck me
1. They never struck me!
2. They make no sound when they glide in
3. There were a few red admirals about but only this one peacock
4. If this one landed on a branch, the red admiral always flew away
5. They never crashed into each other
6. Taking a photograph is a great excuse for just watching nature
7. This song was going through my head. ( He wrote it don't you know!)

This is not my original photo. That was a peacock butterfly but this afternoon, I saw this red admiral on my Smiths teeshirt that was hanging up outside and I just thought it was more unusual . It didn't stay there long before flying away to join his pals. If you really want to see a peacock butterfly, there is one here. al
