Holy but not spiritual!

Didn't manage all the way to Lindisfarne Castle today but saw it from the Priory. It was very atmospheric crossing the causeway but Holy Isle itself was spoiled for me by the vans selling ice cream and fish and chips and the huge number of tourists of which I was one! I'm sure it would be a different experience if you stayed overnight and were there when the causeway was closed.
