Fallow Deer

A quick trip out to find some deer as James wasn't working today and as the day was warm and bright it seemed like a good idea.

We went down to check out Petworth Park to see where the deer will be in rut very soon. Fallow Deer rut later than the red so I wasn't expecting any action but they are beginning to group. It's difficult not to find deer when there are 700 head in the park but with the dogs we didn't get too close to the main herds.

Under a group of trees, this was a group of youngsters and the light was just perfect. No big horns today for you but I'll be going back in a couple of weeks time.
