Love locks on Arthur's Seat

Full disclosure - I'm currently single and thus probably just bitter. But even so, I seem to see these love padlocks all over the place these days. I'm not going to question the appeal of this particular location; Arthur's Seat is as lovely a spot as any to symbolise your unbreakable devotion to one another. But can't they just do with, oh I dunno, a poem or something?
