Chimney-Pot

It was love at first sight when I spotted this old chimney-pot across a recycling yard. I planted Anemones around it and welcome poppies if they come up there. The pot has survived many years in the garden, but since the goat used it for target practice there are cracks.

Today is the fourth anniversary of the first big Canterbury earthquake. Since it was closer to here it was the one that caused the most damage in our area. The two buildings closest to my house were damaged beyond repair. One was rebuilt earlier this year and the other is still being built. Thousands of people in Canterbury are still waiting to hear what will be done about their broken homes. My daughter, FirehorseMia, is one of them.
