4 years on
Four years ago today Christchurch had the first of two huge quakes, the number of aftershocks since more than 13,000. I don't like tempting fate however the ground appears to be kinder in the last year. When I think of being woken in the early hours of the night what I remember most is the noise of the house bricks, grabbing Kariba, holding onto Dave and how long the whole thing seemed to go on for. It was scary.
This video is a good summary of how we were after the first one - lots of property damage but no direct loss of life. The video mentions someone who died of a heart attack due to the shock. I don't think of knew of that.
This video (a mockumentary on the species known as the Road Cone) will hopefully make you smile.
