The Monks' Way
This is in the village of Strelley about five miles from Nottingham centre. The village of Strelley was first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086.
The well-worn stones of this ancient path date from the 14th century, and were part of a route connecting rural monasteries with the River Trent, for reasons that are unclear to me. Interesting though.
