Lower the Boat

The weather today was better than yesterday so the decision was made to run the mail boat to ferry me (and some post) from Ham on Foula back to Walls on the Shetland mainland.

Foula doesn't have a sufficiently protected anchorage for the mail boat, so between trips the "New Advance" is lifted out of the water to save it from the worst of the Shetland weather.

And that completes the back blips from my short visit to Foula – the sequence starts on Saturday 30th August.
