Cyclamen hederifolium
In our garden. We have several in the garden and they flower well in early autumn. I can remember as a child in the first house we lived in that some had been planted close to the house and one year it did not grow very well. I can remember my late father digging up the corms to discover a gooey white mass looking rather like a bowl of icing sugar and water being mixed up. Something had affected it, but we never knew what it was!
I have been working on the story today and last night which has received further help and encouragement today which is good news. It still doesn't have a title yet, but I am working on both the Prologue and Chapter 1. The Prologue is set in the early 15th Century in Somerset and introduces Hawise Fitzpaine and Chapter 1 follows a typical day in the life of 31 year old history teacher, Rachel Dibble who is being observed invisibily to her by Hawise who has travelled through time to the present. Hawise discovered Rachel by chance and when she realises that she has an accent similar to her own, she returns to find out more. Hawise then discovers that Rachel was born in her beloved Somerset and she is determined to learn more about her and life in the 21st Century.
