The Black Swan

This is a genuine Black Swan which used to be in a Glasgow Zoo.As its native land is Australia it breeds in Jan/Feb and this was the aim of the Zoo.
The mating didn't work and it was moved to Drumpellier Country Park about 11 years ago.
It's getting on a bit now and the black sheen is not as striking as it was.However to see this black swan with a RED bill is always a thrill.it is almost the same size as our native Mute Swan.

As for mating in Jan/Feb outdoors in Scotland........Would you do it???????
