Moat

They drained the moat this week. I met a woman with two young boys who knew exactly what happens to all the carp, the swan and ducks and geese -- They go around and net up all the fish and put them in a holding tank. The ducks and geese are huddled up on the island in the middle of the moat where we can't see them. They put a tractor in the moat and move all of the sludge to the edges and wait for the moisture to sieve back into the ground, and then they scoop up all the trash and dry leaves and take them away in a truck. Her boys got they royal tour from the park workers. That's how they knew. But the moat has been empty for a week now, and I miss the birds.

Someone, apparently, lost their bike.
