The Table
The guys have been here all day carting mulch up a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 30 steps, spreding, watering and blowing any little bits of mulch off the rock borders. It would have taken us at least five times as long! It looks, and smells wonderful.
We've had some good news and some bad news lately. On the good side, our former neighbor is making legal headway in a complicated and ground breaking custody battle. I wrote a declaration saying what a good parent we thought he was, and he said it was very helpful in today's hearing. I'm sure there were lots of others from other neighbors.
On the bad side, we learned last week that our old friend, the Montana cattle rancher, suffered a ruptured brain aneurism and stroke and is not doing well. It explains why he never showed up for an expected visit, but was not the explanation we ever wanted to hear. His family is trying to get him moved from the hospital in Billings to a rehab facility nearer to his home near Butte.
Both of these stories are only beginning, and I fear both families have a long road ahead of them. We will do anything we can to help, but at present it seems that about all we can do in either case is keep everybody in our thoughts.
It's another lovely evening, and I took a picture of our new patio table.
