'Back from the dead' moth
My favourite moth from the last couple of days has been this Small Ranunculus. It has a puzzling story. Fairly common for Victorian lepidopterists, in the SE of England anyway, it suddenly became extinct in the early 1900s. It then re-appeared in Kent and London in the 1990s and has been spreading slowly since then. I'm not sure of its status in Buckinghamshire now, but clearly one or two find my garden to their taste.
