He Ho Silver...

...does this look like an upside down saddle to you, that's what I saw on the plum tree when I was picking a few plums this morning. The texture looks so much like leather and the edge bit the sheepskin lining. I know, I was the founder of Bonkers Anonymous!!
I hope this is not the beginning of honey fungus, I've lost a Victoria Plum to it this year so this is probably not a good omen. This tree is called Czar and produces a prolific harvest of a dark purple plum that is delicious eaten raw.
