Pivet Hawk-Moth Catterpillar

Look what my husband Eric just found in our garden - it makes my tummy feel tickly lol - such a beautiful creature - it is a Privet Hawk Moth larvae , it is about 3 inches long and as fat as an elephant lol - Well spotted Eric - it's droppings look like hand grenades lol

Will it stay there until it hatches? I do hope so
