Mackintosh Abstract

Last night was the start of our Mackintosh at the Grand Tour.

Today our tour started with a visit to our headquarters at the beautiful Mackintosh Queen's Cross.

We then headed over to the Hunterian for a tour of the Mackintosh House and then the Mackintosh Architecture Exhibition. After taking the group round this wonderful house and exhibition we made our way down to the Corinthian for lunch. The Corinthian is one of my favourite buildings in the city, the interiors never disappoint.

After lunch we took the train to Helensburgh and then headed up to Mackintosh's domestic masterpiece, The Hill House. While in the house one of the staff mentioned that they had been asked for a poster of the daisy in the drawing room. They knew nothing about this and when they investigated they could see this lighting effect created by the reflection in the niche beside the overmantel in the drawing room.

The tour continues tomorrow.
