Early crafting

After a long first week at school (3 full days!), our darling struggled to find a balance this afternoon between resting and doing things to keep herself awake. After various activities - some more successful than others - she decided she wanted to do some sewing. She sat on my lap (don't worry anyone!) and selected the different stitches she wanted to try and see what they looked like as she pressed the foot pedal (with her hand!) and I guided the material through.
This kept her calm and occupied for long enough to help her settle and feel able to tell me what she wanted to do next - bath, dinner and bed!! :)
