Lost keys

A box of lost keys, or keys that have become separated from their rightful locks if you prefer. Some of these look fairly old and by rights at least one of them should turn out to fit the lock of a mysterious wooden box found in the dark corner of an attic, or a long forgotten door in the corner of a cellar somewhere.
