It came overnight
Hoary frost is one of those phenomena in nature that the meteorolidiots rarely, if ever, predict. One just wakes up one morning and finds it clinging to every twig and sprig, transforming the slumbering grey and brown landscape into something of a wonderland.
I'm not the only one who finds it beautiful. The frozen lakes and park trails are overrun with cross country skiers this morning, all with aahhh and ooohh looks on their faces. And it's only minus seven, which makes it quite pleasant to toddle around in the snow.
A drive out in the country this morning may have yielded something more spectacular than this but since I am working on a special project, I just went for a quick drive around the neighborhood.
