Remembrance

RAF Bomber Command Memorial just happened to be opposite our hotel on Piccadilly in Green Park and was too good an opportunity to miss.

It is a wonderful sculpture with amazing detail commemorating the 55,573 aircrew from Britain, Canada, Poland, Czechoslovakia and other Commonwealth countries as well as civilians killed in the Second World War. Unveiled in 28 June 2012 by Queen Elizabeth II designed by Liam O'Connor and Philip Jackson.
