Chopin in Manchester

Fryderyk Chopin visited Manchester in the year before his death.
On Monday August 28th 1848 he gave a concert, despite being gravely ill, before an audience of 1200 people at "The Gentlemen's Concert Hall" - which stood at the junction of Peter Street and Lower Mosley Street.
Chopin died in Paris in 1849 aged 39.
