A sunny Saturday for once!

Tufted Vetch, also known as Cow Vetch or Bird Vetch, is a member of the pea and clover family. In Finnish we do not owe this plant to cows or birds, but call it a mouse vetch instead. It is very nice in bouquets because the long stems trail delicately down.

Today it was a pretty sunny day. I had classes in the morning from 8-12, but when I got home we took our bikes and rode to the Kurki farm farmers' market for some coffee and crepes.

On the way back we saw these beautiful flowers with swarms of bees frantically looking for pollen or nectar in them.

In the evening Paula and Pirkka came over for dinner and we served very local food: pike-perch from our lake, porcini from the forest, tomatoes and potatoes from the Farmers' Market.
