something familiar
we went for a wander around town this morning. Saturday market and Charter Day - celebrating the day in 1280 that the town was granted royal permission to hold a street market. 1280 - long time ago. We walked past the pie stall, the french baker up to the market cross where the town brass band were playing. A jolly sight and sound. After a quick pit stop we resumed our stroll down Market Street where we contributed to the Street Chalker project......or sidewalk chalking as it's known in the US. Not such a common thing to do in the UK, it's almost frowned upon and seen as delinquent behaviour!
