Snips and Snaps

Is the description on the ordnance survey map and that is what it is, one of three above Haweswater constructed when building the reservoir.

A very unpromising start to the morning as we drove up the motorway to the Lakes in torrential rain. The whether just got better and better and by the time we got to Long Sleddale just south of Shap the rain had cleared and we had perfect conditions for our run. Setting off from Sadgill Head we headed up over Grey Crag, Tarn Crag, Branstree before dropping down to Gatesgarth and the climb up to Adam's Seat and Little Harter Fell. From there up to Harter Fell and Kentmere pike with a bit of a detour out to Goat Scar and then Shipmans Knotts and back to Sadgill. Just eleven miles, but a fair bit of climbing in the legs. A great to be out day : )
