Mo and the Great North Run 2014
Mo and the Great North Run 2014
Another wonderful event in Newcastle. It has been party time all week, with the opening ceremony for the 'Millionth' GNR runner (Sting, Jimmy Nail and Mark Knopfler et al). It is always interesting to go down to the start, after walking across the Town Moor, and observe the thousands of runners taking part. 'Mo' was off first and this blip captures him on the start line just before the gun. He is around two and a half times faster than me ! having personally run the race 3 times. You always get that feeling, "I should be down there". It is a hard slog though, and you have to feel the pain to appreciate it. My sympathies go out to all those fun runners down there.
The Red Arrows did their familiar flypast and everyone cheered loudly. A grand day out for the Geordie regulars and all those people world wide who travelled to take part and enjoy the event.
Next year maybes???
