Dragon Fruit

I didn't know this fruit existed till this morning when I spotted it in Asda and had a little flip of excitement. My partner is Welsh and we play "dragons" whenever we can - first to spot a dragon - our home has plenty of them in various different forms. This fruit though, what a lovely deep red and the spines or whatever they are, slightly wilting and not exactly scary and spikey - but all the same how dramatic it is. I haven't cut it yet - haven't got a clue what it's gonna be like inside. Will save that for tomorrow breakfast time. (Of course this pic would have been much more technically clever if taken with a proper camera and using macro setting - but the iphone is always there when I need it).
