Silver Birch, Cannock Chase

I invariably check the weather forecast for the following morning. It looked like a wall to wall sunshine sort of day in the Midlands but there was just the hint of some mist first thing. Driving out I checked dthe fields opposite the estate and there was some low level mist, but not much.

I decided to visit Cannock Chase. It is one of the few areas where the deep valleys allow for this type of shot. It took a while to find a suitable tree and when I found this one it required some walking over heather, off path. Finished off the morning with a bacon buttie at the local cafe, before helping Lorna and her ride cross a busy road nearby. Svalbard seems ages ago already!
