Waiting to see the Train
Today was Hampton Transport Gala, a celebration of 150 years of trains running through our village and a fund raiser for 3 local charities. Quite a show was laid on, including a load of vintage buses, collectors fairs, food, games and family fun. I have never seen so many Hamptonians out on the street. It was an impressive show, including a few friends form the posh end of town (Teddington) Alan and Blipper SueL7.
Sadly the main attraction was not allowed to steam in via the railway tracks, instead she came by low loader. This is a view between the cars looking at the families waiting to board her on the specially constructed "Platform 3". Thanks to the Bluebell Railway for the loan.
A great example of community spirit.
