Wimbledon wild
Despite getting home at 4am (night out with old work colleagues that ended up at a Chinese in Chinatown at 2am), I was awake and chirpy early on. Fred took his bike to Wimbledon to be fixed and I met him there by train. We thought we'd just walk and walk, and we ended up walking from Wimbledon Village (stop for tea and lemon presse at Cafe Rouge), across the common with the parakeets, down through Putney with the Canada geese and long-tailed tits, along the River Thames with more parakeets, across Hammersmith Bridge, through Ravenscourt Park (stop for hot chocolate at Gingko garden centre), along Goldhawk Road and up past our old flat to the infamous Damas Gate. I really miss living right beside that shop - it has the most wonderful fruit and veg, as well as tubs and tubs of olives and falafel. We had a quick browse around Waitrose picking up stuff for our picnic tomorrow, then ran out of the incredibly busy, but soulless, Westfield shopping centre.
Back home, we're gearing up to watch 'Return of the Jedi'.
Happy weekend!
