I went to 7:30 mass today seeking the cool start to another very hot day and the peace of a service without music. Good church music, like good church art, is a blessing, but the music here tends to be pedestrian and dirge-like. The Monsignor is an uplifting preacher and celebrant, and that is more than enough.
