Dalton in Furness.

I took several shots of the town and I was more or less at the top of the town for this one.

Dalton was the leading town in the Furness area which extends almost as far as Morecambe Bay. It was the centre for administration and justice back in the 1300's

Dalton Castle was right behind me and in those days which measures 40ft by 30ft and the walls are all 6ft thick. This was used as a refuge for the Monks from Furness Abbey (Barrow in Furness).

Our holiday has at last begun with lovely weather as well.
