A gem in Charlton Horethorne

I have often passed this old house in Charlton Horethorne and i would like to know more of its history - it looks like a lord of the manor residence or possibly a very grand vicarage.
We were on our way from taking Bertie back to the rescue centre - they have been too full to welcome him back before but also we gave him longer to see if we could make it work! I must admit i shed many tears because I had grown really fond of him despite the difficulties and i will miss him. i am going to contact the centre to see how he gets on and I am really hoping that the right owner will come for him. On the positive side they could see much improvement in him all round so I do hope that we have done him some good.
