AUTUMN...

...is early this year - the conkers started falling a week ago.

My mother, to keep her sanity intact, used to paint on porcelain - this is her "autumn" plate. Yes, that's a younger version of me with an arm around her.

Her sanity was constantly under threat from Dickie - my stepfather - a truly awful little man.
