The almost perfect day.

No day can be perfect, not in its entirety, but this one was pretty darned close.

Drove to Craster.
A quick nip into a gallery, a sniff of the smoke house, an ogle at the pub we ate at last time we were here (Yum!)
Some of the house walls in Craster have hidden boats, making the place even more endearing.
Walked along the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle. Glorious weather, fabulous company in the shape of my family, stunning (again!) views.
Picnic at the foot of the fortress like walls watching the sea and the swifts.
A walk back to Craster then the rest of the afternoon on Embleton beach, my second favourite (but it's a close call!)
Digging, paddling, kite flying, dune surfing...
Dragged the kids away clutching shells and pebbles and carrying secret piles of sand in their pockets.
The last day in Northumberland for now.
Fantastic.
