Another Old Photograph

Pictured is the former signal box at Ashurst Junction. Opened some 16 years after the line from East Grinstead to Tunbridge Wells was opened, a junction was needed when the line from Oxted to Tunbridge Wells was opened.

The signal box was closed in January 1969 when the spur to Groombridge was removed and trains for Tunbridge Wells went via Eridge.
